WHAT IS EDFEST?
Why Venues Should Promote EdFest.com Over Other Ticketing Platforms
As a venue at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, your success depends on ticket sales, visibility, and the value you deliver to audiences and performers alike. EdFest.com offers another option using Red61. The ticket commission is 3% which is significantly less than any other system. It also allows venues to use it for ticket offers for shows with a set of easily activated options. Plus shows can manage their own marketing content to keep information current for users.
The booking fee is capped at £5, again less than most other options. The income from this is split with venues after deduction of any affiliate sales. We are encouraging affiliates to promote edfest.com which will generate 50p per transaction for them. The Fringe Society remain the main avenue for sales, but this is a usefull addition and we believe that it is beneficial to all if they focus on full price sales.
The more we all promote this the better the outcome. The focus of marketing should be to both the venue website and edfest.com, with the latter allowing for a combined basket across the major Fringe venues.

EXCLUSIVE EDFEST OFFERS? HOW TO ADD AND MANAGE?
Edfest runs exclusive 5 offers on our site:
- 2 for 1
- 20% off
- 50% off
- £5 Ticket
- £8 Ticket
Over time, EdFest has built a streamlined and reliable infrastructure in collaboration with our ticketing partners, making it easier than ever for audiences to access discounted tickets—and for artists and producers to promote them.
We've consistently marketed our exclusive offers page to ensure strong visibility, connecting audiences with artists and producers who want to offer discounted tickets—whether to boost attendance, build buzz, or simply move the last few seats for a sold-out run.
Adding offers has never been simpler. Producers and artists can now create and manage ticket discounts directly through their RED61 reporting site—no need to contact the venue box office. A step-by-step guide is provided below.
Step 1: Access Your Reporting Login
To get started, you'll need to obtain your reporting site login credentials and access link from your venue. For this example, we'll be using the Assembly reporting portal and a sample username to demonstrate the process.
Step 2: Log In to the Reporting Portal
Once logged in, you will be directed to the main dashboard, which looks like this:
Step 3: Navigate to Ticket Management
From the left-hand menu, select "Ticket Management" and then click on "Offers." All of your shows should be listed in this section. If you don't see a specific show listed, please contact your venue's box office for assistance.
Step 4: Select the Event
Choose the show you'd like to apply the offer to—for this example, we'll use "Best of the Fest Daytime." Once selected, a dropdown menu will appear displaying all performances associated with that event.
Step 5: Select the Performance
Choose the performance you'd like to apply the offer to, and click on it. A new page will open, displaying the relevant details. To apply the offer, click on the blue dot with the "+" symbol.
Step 6: View and Manage Offers
On this page, you will see all available EdFest offers, as well as any offers already applied to the selected performance. For example, while only four offers may be listed on the left side, you will notice a note under Price Band 1 indicating that the "EdFest 50% Off" offer has already been applied to this performance and cannot be reapplied. However, you have the option to adjust the number of tickets allocated to this offer, or remove it entirely if needed.
Step 7: Apply the Offer
Select the offer you'd like to apply. Once chosen, the ticket price and offer price will be displayed. You also have the option to set a cap on the number of concession tickets available or leave it unlimited. After making your selections, click Save. The offer will be instantly added to your ticketing system. Please allow up to a couple of hours for the website to sync and for the offer to appear on both your event page and the offers page.
