1. Introduction

Welcome to Edfest.com. By accessing and using our website, you agree to comply with and be bound by the following terms and conditions. Please do not use our website if you disagree with any of these terms and conditions.

2. Definitions

"We", "us", and "our" refer to Edfest.com.

"You" or "your" refers to the user or viewer of our website.

"Content" refers to all information, text, graphics, logos, and materials available on Edfest.com.

3. Purchasing Tickets

3.1 All Tickets are sold subject to availability and these Terms and Conditions. These Terms and Conditions should be read carefully before purchase, and any queries relating to them should be raised with us before purchase, as the purchase of ticket(s) constitutes an agreement of these Terms and Conditions. A valid ticket must be produced to enter an event. Please notify us of any access requirements at the time of booking. Removing any part of, altering, or defacing the ticket may invalidate Your Ticket.

3.2 The Venue management reserves the right to refuse the Ticket holder's admission to the Venue in reasonable circumstances, including for health and safety, licensing reasons or where a Ticket is void.

3.3 The Venue's management also reserves the right to request that Ticket holders leave the Venue at any point on reasonable grounds and may take any appropriate action to enforce this right. By way of example, the Venue may remove a Ticket holder who:

  • has behaved in the Venue in a manner which, in the reasonable opinion of the Venue, has, or is likely to affect the enjoyment of other visitors; or
  • uses threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour or in any way provokes or behaves in a manner which may provoke a breach of the peace; or
  • in the reasonable opinion of the Venue is under the influence of drugs or has consumed an excessive amount of alcohol, or
  • fails, when required, to produce proof of identity or age; or
  • obstructs gangways, access-ways, exits, entrances or staircases, congregates in non-designated areas or seeks entry to stands or seats for which they do not hold a Ticket.

3.4 No refunds will be given to ticket holders who refuse entry or are ejected due to their own behaviour, as suggested in but not limited to, the examples above.

3.5 Venue (Except McEwan Hall) performances have unreserved seating and cannot guarantee that all party members will be seated together.

3.6 You are responsible for checking Your Ticket(s), as mistakes cannot be rectified after purchase. Please check your ticket(s) carefully before making the final purchase on the website.

3.7 We will not be responsible for any Ticket lost, stolen or destroyed.

3.8 It is not possible to issue a duplicate ticket(s), for example, for non-seated events where there is a possibility of both the original and duplicate ticket(s) being used, compromising the licensed capacity of the Venue.

3.9 Ticket holders must comply with all relevant statutes, safety announcements and Venue regulations whilst attending the Event. If ticket holders have any special requirements or concerns about special effects that may be featured at the Event, prior notice should be provided when ordering tickets. Special effects may include, without limitation, sound, audio-visual, pyrotechnic effects or lighting effects.

3.10 Any complaints about a Ticket holder's seating or ability to view a production should be made promptly to the Venue Management before or during the performance (within the first 15 minutes). Any complaints made after the performance will not be considered, and no refund or exchange will be issued.

3.11 The purchase is final, and tickets cannot be exchanged or money refunded. The exception is made only in the case of a performance being cancelled. If a performance is cancelled, ticket holders will be offered a refund.

3.12 To avail of a 2-for-1 ticket offer, please ensure that tickets have been booked in multiples of 2 for this offer to apply. The 2-for-1 offer applies only to full-price tickets.

3.13 Tickets are sold subject to the management's right to alter the advertised arrangements or the cast.

3.14 Senior citizens, the unemployed, customers with disabilities, Young Scot, MU and Equity card holders, and all young people under 16 and students in full-time education are eligible for concession-priced tickets for most shows at Assembly. If concession tickets have been booked, valid proof of concession for each ticket must be shown at the box office. You will be charged the total adult ticket cost if evidence cannot be shown.

3.15 Babes in Arms policy varies from Venue to Venue, and please check with the Venue about its babies in arms policy.

3.16 EdFest (Showcatcher Ltd) operates only on E-ticketing.

3.17 The ticket price shall be the price set at the time We accept Your order. All advertised prices include applicable taxes and a Per-ticket booking fee (where applicable) but are exclusive of any per transaction, collection, or delivery fee.

3.18 All Concessions and Discounts are subject to availability. They may be restricted to certain price levels and performances and can be withdrawn by the Venue without notice.

3.19 Only one Concession or Discount is available per ticket.

3.20 No order will be accepted until we receive full payment in cleared funds. We reserve the right to cancel any booking that we reasonably suspect has been made fraudulently.

3.21 If the amount you pay for a ticket is incorrect, regardless of whether because of an error in a price posted on the Site or otherwise communicated to You or You are able to order a ticket before its scheduled on-sale or presale date or You are able to order a Ticket that was not supposed to have been released for sale, We will have the right to cancel that ticket (or the order for that ticket) and refund you the amount you paid. This will apply regardless of whether because of human error or a transactional malfunction of this website.

3.22 The personal assistants of disabled customers in the UK are entitled to a free ticket if the person they are accompanying can show a locally issued disability card. Guide and Hearing dogs are welcome, but other animals are prohibited inside the theatre. Please get in touch with the Venue directly to acquire access tickets.

3.23 Late Night Performance – Performances listed at 00:01 or later will now be considered as occurring on the new day. For example, a performance listed online and in the programme as '00:30 Tuesday' will now refer to a performance starting on Early Morning Tuesday at 00:30.

3.24 Unless otherwise stated, seating will be offered on a first-come, first-served basis; however, Venues reserve the right to allocate seating in accordance with local Government rules and guidelines, which may result in groups being seated separately.

4. Love the Fringe Scheme

4.1 The "Love the Fringe" (LTF) scheme is a membership program offered through Edfest.com. Membership allows members to receive free tickets, subject to their membership tier and ticket allocation availability, for performances opted into the scheme.

4.2 Members also receive hospitality discounts, which require showing their digital pass to participating hospitality partners by logging into Edfest.com and their terms as requested by hospitality partners.

4.3 Subscriptions and redeemed tickets are strictly non-exchangeable and non-refundable. All purchases are final once made, and mistakes cannot be rectified after purchase.

4.4 Depending on the membership tier, the first allocated tickets are free. For example, Iron membership grants three free tickets, so the first three tickets added to your basket will be free, subject to terms and availability of LTF allocation for the performance, which can be checked on the event performance page.

4.5 If LTF allocation is unavailable, you will be charged the full price for tickets.

4.6 To get LTF free tickets, you must add standard-price tickets to your basket. If the allocation is available, the tickets will automatically be free.

4.7 Depending on your membership tier, you may still be liable to pay booking fees on your tickets.

4.8 Membership payment is valid for one year and only for performances within that year. Membership is for the purchaser only and is non-transferable.

4.9 Tickets claimed through membership are also for the membership owner and cannot be transferred or sold to anyone.

4.10 Proof of membership may be required at the Venue or while trying to gain access to the theatre.

4.11 Bar discounts will also require a valid digital membership card to be shown to a staff member to be eligible for the discount.

4.12 Bar discounts vary and are subject to availability.

4.13 Any misuse of membership will result in membership termination, and any amount paid will not be refunded.

4.14 Entry to the club bar is subject to venue terms.

4.15 Advice on the show is available when the venue box office is open, which is Monday to Friday, 10:00 to 18:00 until 31st July, and every day from 10:00 to 19:00 between 1st August and 25th August 2024.

4.16 Membership cards for Silver, Gold, and Platinum members will be distributed in July. Members will receive an email advising when and where to collect their cards.

4.17 Edfest and exclusive offers are subject to membership level and can only be redeemed on Edfest.com by logging in with the email used to purchase the membership.
