Terms and Conditions

Last updated: 03 June 2026

These Terms and Conditions apply to the use of EdFest.com and to any tickets, memberships, vouchers, offers or other products purchased through this website.

By using EdFest.com or placing an order, you agree to these Terms and Conditions.

1. About EdFest.com

EdFest.com is a shared ticketing, marketing and discovery platform for participating Edinburgh Festival Fringe venues, producers, promoters and event organisers.

EdFest.com allows customers to discover shows, access offers and book tickets across participating venues in one place.

EdFest.com does not own, produce or operate all events listed on the website and does not itself hold ticket inventory for all performances. Ticket availability, allocations, pricing, performance information, access information and event delivery remain the responsibility of the relevant venue, producer, promoter or event organiser.

Where you purchase tickets through EdFest.com, your booking is for the relevant event or performance listed at the time of purchase.

2. Accuracy of information

We work with venues, producers, promoters and event organisers to keep event information accurate and up to date.

However, performance details may occasionally change, including but not limited to dates, times, venues, running times, age guidance, access information, cast, line-up, content warnings, pricing and availability.

Customers are responsible for checking all booking details carefully before completing a purchase.

3. Ticket availability

All tickets are subject to availability.

The inclusion of a show, performance, offer or ticket type on EdFest.com does not guarantee availability.

Tickets may be sold through multiple channels and availability can change quickly. A ticket is not secured until the order has been completed and a booking confirmation has been issued.

4. Prices, booking fees and charges

Ticket prices are shown on EdFest.com at the point of booking.

Booking fees, transaction fees, delivery charges, ticket protection charges or other applicable costs will be displayed during the booking process before payment is completed.

EdFest.com caps customer booking fees at £5 per transaction.

Any optional add-ons, including ticket protection, are charged separately and are subject to their own terms.

5. Booking confirmation and tickets

Once your order has been completed, you will receive a booking confirmation by email.

Customers must check their booking confirmation carefully as soon as it is received. If there is an error, you should contact us as soon as possible.

Tickets may be issued digitally, by email, by collection, or through another method specified during the booking process.

It is the customer’s responsibility to provide a valid email address and to ensure tickets and booking confirmations can be received.

6. Refunds and exchanges

Unless otherwise stated, tickets purchased through EdFest.com are non-refundable and non-exchangeable once the transaction has been completed.

Refunds will not be given where a customer can no longer attend, arrives late, is refused entry due to breach of venue or event rules, books the wrong date or time, or changes their mind.

Where a performance is cancelled, rescheduled or materially changed, the customer may be entitled to a refund of the face value of the ticket or, where available, the option to attend a rescheduled performance or alternative performance, subject to availability.

Booking fees, transaction fees, delivery charges and optional ticket protection charges are non-refundable unless required by law or otherwise stated.

Any exchanges are at the discretion of EdFest.com, the relevant venue, producer, promoter or event organiser and cannot be guaranteed.

Booking Protect, XCover and optional ticket protection

EdFest.com may offer customers the option to purchase ticket protection, refund protection or booking protection at checkout through Booking Protect, XCover or another third-party protection provider.

This protection is optional and is separate from the ticket purchase. It is provided by the relevant third-party provider, not by EdFest.com, the venue, producer, promoter or event organiser.

Any claim, refund request or benefit under ticket protection must be made directly through the relevant protection provider and will be assessed under that provider’s own terms, conditions, eligibility criteria and claims process.

Purchasing ticket protection does not change EdFest.com’s standard refund policy. Unless a refund is due under these Terms, required by law, or approved by the relevant protection provider, tickets remain non-refundable and non-exchangeable.

Customers should read the protection provider’s terms carefully before purchasing, as cover only applies in specific circumstances and may be subject to exclusions.

Ticket protection, refund protection or booking protection charges are non-refundable unless required by law or stated otherwise by the relevant protection provider.

7. Cancelled, rescheduled or changed events

If an event is cancelled or rescheduled, we will use reasonable efforts to notify affected customers using the contact details provided at the time of booking.

It is the customer’s responsibility to check emails and event information before attending.

Where face value of ticket/s refund is approved due to cancellation, rescheduling or material change, refunds will normally be made to the original payment method.

EdFest.com is not responsible for additional costs incurred by customers, including travel, accommodation, food, drink, loss of earnings or other expenses.

8. Admission and venue rules

Admission to events is subject to the rules and policies of the relevant venue, producer, promoter or event organiser.

Customers must arrive in good time. Latecomers may not be admitted, or may only be admitted at a suitable break in the performance, at the discretion of the venue.

No refund will be given if admission is refused due to late arrival, failure to follow venue rules, inappropriate behaviour, intoxication, age restrictions, lack of required identification, or any other reason within the control of the customer.

Venues may operate their own security, bag search, photography, filming, food and drink, accessibility and safeguarding policies.

9. Age guidance and content information

Age guidance, content warnings and access information are provided by the relevant venue, producer, promoter or event organiser.

Customers are responsible for checking whether an event is suitable before booking.

Where an event has an age restriction, customers may be required to provide valid identification. Failure to provide identification where required may result in refusal of entry without refund.

10. Accessibility

EdFest.com aims to support accessible booking wherever possible.

Access information is provided based on details supplied by the relevant venues and event organisers. Customers with specific access requirements should check the event and venue information before booking and contact the relevant box office or venue if further assistance is required.

11. Offers, discounts and promotions

Offers, discounts and promotions on EdFest.com are subject to availability and may apply only to selected shows, performances, ticket types or dates.

Offers may be changed, withdrawn or limited at any time.

Discounts cannot usually be applied retrospectively to tickets already purchased.

Only one offer or discount may be used per ticket unless otherwise stated.

EdFest.com may refuse or cancel any booking where an offer, discount code or promotional ticket has been misused.

12. Love the Fringe memberships

Love the Fringe memberships are subject to the specific membership benefits, rules and availability stated at the time of purchase.

Membership benefits may include access to free tickets, selected offers, discounts and other benefits. Benefits are subject to availability and may vary by show, venue, date and performance.

A Love the Fringe membership does not guarantee access to any specific show, venue, performance, ticket allocation or benefit.

Memberships are non-refundable unless required by law.

13. Vouchers and gift vouchers

Vouchers are issued digitally and may be used towards eligible tickets, Love the Fringe memberships or other eligible products as stated at the time of purchase.

Vouchers are non-refundable and cannot be exchanged for cash.

If the value of a basket exceeds the value of the voucher, the customer must pay the remaining balance at checkout.

If the full value of the voucher is not used, any remaining balance may be subject to the specific voucher terms.

Vouchers may have expiry dates, restrictions or exclusions, which will be stated at the time of issue.

14. Optional ticket protection

Customers may be offered optional ticket protection through XCover or another third-party provider at checkout.

Ticket protection is optional and is provided by the relevant third-party provider, not by EdFest.com.

Any claims, refunds or benefits under ticket protection are subject to the provider’s own terms and conditions.

Purchasing ticket protection does not change EdFest.com’s refund policy.

15. Resale and misuse of tickets

Tickets purchased through EdFest.com are for personal use only unless otherwise agreed.

Tickets must not be resold for commercial gain or used for competitions, promotions, hospitality packages or other commercial purposes without written permission.

EdFest.com, the relevant venue, producer, promoter or event organiser may cancel tickets without refund where tickets are believed to have been resold, transferred or used in breach of these Terms.

16. Customer conduct

Customers must behave respectfully towards venue staff, artists, producers, other audience members and EdFest.com staff.

Abusive, threatening, discriminatory or inappropriate behaviour may result in refusal of service, cancellation of tickets, removal from a venue or refusal of future bookings.

No refund will be given where a customer is refused admission or removed due to their behaviour.

17. Website use

Customers must not misuse EdFest.com, interfere with the website, attempt unauthorised access, use automated systems to purchase tickets, or use the website for fraudulent or unlawful purposes.

We may suspend access, cancel bookings or refuse future service where we believe the website has been misused.

18. Liability

EdFest.com is not responsible for the production, staging, content, quality, cancellation, rescheduling, alteration or delivery of events except where directly stated.

Responsibility for each event remains with the relevant venue, producer, promoter or event organiser.

Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes liability where it would be unlawful to do so.

EdFest.com will not be liable for indirect losses, loss of enjoyment, travel costs, accommodation costs, loss of earnings or other expenses incurred in connection with an event.

19. Data protection

Personal information provided through EdFest.com will be handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

Customer details may be shared with relevant venues, ticketing providers, payment providers, ticket protection providers or event organisers where necessary to process bookings, deliver tickets, manage access, provide customer service or comply with legal obligations.

20. Changes to these Terms

EdFest.com may update these Terms and Conditions from time to time.

The Terms that apply to your booking are the Terms in force at the time your order is completed.

21. Contact

For questions about a booking made through EdFest.com, please contact:

For event-specific questions, customers may also be directed to the relevant venue, producer, promoter or event organiser.

The Times 20k Giveaway and promotional ticket offers

The Times 20k Giveaway and any similar promotional ticket offers are valid only for the performances, dates, times, venues and ticket allocations advertised.

Tickets are subject to availability and may be limited by show, performance, venue, ticket type, customer, account, transaction or promotional code.

Unless otherwise stated, The Times 20k Giveaway is strictly limited to a maximum of 6 tickets per person across the promotion. This limit applies regardless of the number of EdFest accounts, email addresses, devices, transactions or promotional codes used.

EdFest reserves the right to cancel, refuse, amend or limit any booking without notice where we reasonably believe that a customer has attempted to exceed the stated ticket limit, misuse the promotion, create duplicate accounts, place multiple linked orders, resell tickets, or otherwise use the offer in a way that is unfair to other customers or contrary to the spirit of the promotion.

Where bookings are cancelled because promotional limits have been exceeded or the offer has been misused, any refund will be limited to the amount actually paid by the customer, excluding any non-refundable booking fees, transaction fees, ticket protection charges or other charges unless required by law.

Promotional tickets have no cash value, cannot be exchanged for cash, cannot be transferred for commercial gain and cannot be applied retrospectively to previous purchases.

EdFest may amend, withdraw, suspend or close promotional offers at any time where necessary due to availability, operational reasons, suspected misuse, technical issues or circumstances outside our control.
