  • Operational Costs: £30
  • Net Profit: £70
    • £35 to Artists
    • £35 to Venues

Artists and venues benefit, even from free tickets

How Shows Participate: 3% Commitment

Shows are asked to allocate 3% of their total ticket inventory to Love the Fringe promotions.

Example:

  • 100-seat venue x 27 performances = 2,700 tickets
  • 3% = 81 tickets for the scheme

These can be:

  • Evenly spread (e.g., three tickets per show)
  • Customised (e.g. more on weekdays, fewer on weekends)

Shows can offer additional discounts on EdFest.com at their discretion (2-for-1s, £5 tickets, etc.)

2025 Target

  • Ambition for 18,000 memberships in 2025, potentially generating £500,000
    • Estimated £400,000+ going directly to artists, producers, and venues after costs

In Summary

Love the Fringe is more than a membership—it's a powerful tool to:

  • Make the festival more accessible and affordable
  • Reward artists and venues fairly
  • Build a loyal and engaged audience
  • Strengthen the future of the Edinburgh Festival Fringe
  • Combined venues participating in the scheme have 1 million tickets to sell per week during the festival and, on average, half of these don't get used. This aims to highlight the positive message about the Fringe, making better use of unused inventory.
