About the Soloist

Born in Geneva, Switzerland in 2011, violinist Kimia Corke began studying at the age of four and made her stage debut shortly thereafter. Since 2021, she has studied at the Zakhar Bron School of Music in Zurich.

A passionate and dedicated young musician, Kimia is a prize-winner of numerous national and international competitions across France, Slovenia, Italy, Latvia, the Czech Republic, Hungary and the USA. Most recently, she was awarded 1st prize with distinction at the Ming Classics Festival in Andermatt, Switzerland.

Kimia regularly participates in masterclasses with world-renowned violinists including Professors Zakhar Bron, Ning Feng, Svetlana Makarova, Pavel Vernikov, Esther Hoppe, Oleg Kaskiv, Kirill Troussov and Vadim Gluzman. A special milestone was performing with the Zagreb Chamber Orchestra at the age of eight, her first solo appearance with an orchestra and she has since continued to perform with various chamber and symphonic orchestras.

Since 2022, Kimia has performed on a violin crafted by French luthier Pierre Le Pileur in Paris in 1755.
