About:
A contemporary dance inspired by the Chinese mythological creature – a
creature composed of many parts. Six dancers gather, transform and
evolve from individual bodies into one collective organism. Inspired by
dragon boat rituals and the ancient philosophy of circular movement
found in Eastern practices such as Tai Chi, the choreography
investigates transformation, balance, and the flowof energy between
organic and artificial systems, with the introduction of a robotic arm
as a competing dragon. Finally body and machine merge into a hybrid
form, reflecting on the evolving relationship between humanity, nature
and technology.
